How do I get an appointment to be seen by Dr. A?
Have your family doctor or primary care sports physician send a referral to our central booking office. Our fax number is 416-546-7111.

Does Dr. A only see athletes?
NO! Dr. A not only treats professional athletes, but also individuals of all ages with a wide variety of athletic and non-athletic orthopaedic injuries.

Where will my consultation be?
Depending on where you live or work, your first consultation will be at one of our three locations across the Greater Toronto Area that is most convenient for you.

How do I know if I need surgery?
Not all joint problems or injuries need surgery. Dr. A will carefully assess and examine your injury to determine the best treatment available. Together, you and him will decide what is best for you!

What surgeries does Dr. A perform?
Dr. A specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery (camera surgery). These procedures allow for quicker healing, and eliminate the need to stay in hospital overnight. For a list of common procedures, please click the “services” tab at the top of the page.

How long does it take to be seen?
Our goal is to have you seen in consultation as soon as possible. Your initial assessment will usually take place within 1-4 weeks.

What is the process after surgery?
The healing process after surgery often requires physical therapy and exercises to enhance your recovery and function. Dr. A will follow you regularly until full healing has occurred.

What if I have questions after my surgery?
Having surgery can feel overwhelming at times. Dr. A will provide his personal email to you should you have concerns or questions at anytime, or you may call our office. We will address your concerns and guide you through the process.

If surgery is not required, what else can I do?
Many orthopedic injuries can be treated equally well, if not better, with non-surgical measures. Often, this will include a structured program with a physiotherapist, use of customized bracing, or injections to supplement your healing. Dr. A will be happy to give his recommendations to you.

Am I a candidate for regenerative medicine (orthobiologics)?
Many patients have demands to remain active and healthy, but are not quite ready for surgery. New advances in regenerative medicine, such as platelet-rich plasma or stem cell therapy can provide non-surgical solutions for certain injuries or diseases.

I have more questions. Who can I ask?
All questions will be answered in detailed during your initial consultation.
